CORRIDORS & STREETSCAPES / CHAMPAIGN/URBANA UNIVERSITY AVENUE
How do you tell a story along a very narrow and over-developed, mixed-use corridor? A challenge to be sure, but Landstory responded through a myriad of ways. Signage, use of color, site furnishings, decorative pavement and identification of four distinct districts defined this major east-west corridor, connecting Urbana, Illinois, to its nearby neighbor, the City of Champaign. Each of the district's unique stories were represented, through design. Custom bus shelters, kiosks, seating and lighting lend a sense of uniqueness but consistency throughout the corridor.
